With Canal Street the town’s intimate venues open for Jazz and Blues. Music fills the pearls of the archipelago.

Arendal is the summer town above all others for some; teeming with street-life, its guest marina right in the middle of town, a Grand Prix boat race, big sailing regatta, and Canal Street with its many concerts and arrangements to choose from. In other words: something for everyone!
What’s happening?
Just before Canal Street gets underway, the Norwegian Class 1 World Power Boat Championship takes place in Arendal from 20 to 22 July. During the festival, the summer’s big sailing regatta takes place - APL Race Week. Arendal is the place to be during the last week in July.

Accommodation in Arendal

Arendal has various accommodation options for all needs. If you want to camp, there are camping sites just outside the town. There are 3 hotels in the town centre. 
We recommend the Thon Hotel in Arendal as our festival hotel. Book well in advance to avoid disappointment. If you prefer to rent a cottage, house or apartment, check the Arendal Tourist Information Office’s website for accommodation. Accommodation options:

Getting to Canal Street

Arendal is superbly positioned in Southern Norway, just a short distance away from both the east and west.  We recommend public transport to the festival!

Taking the bus to the Festival

Canal Street  and Nettbuss are co-operating this year to provide tranport to and from the festival. Tickets bought in advance include free bus transport to the festival!
