Concert venues

One of Canal Streets strongest trademarks is its use of unique venues which compliment and contribute to the complete musical experience. Check out some of our concert arenas.

Lille Torungen lighthouse

Fyrjazz (Lighthouse Jazz) at the Lille Torungen lighthouse, “Jazz in the Dump“ at Heftingsdalen refuse/recycling site (2006), Bathing Blues and Splash Jazz in the Bay of Merdø, and Bohemian Jazz at the ferry place in Kolbjørnsvik are just some examples.

The ocean environment and unusual venues Arendal has to offer provide the possibility to give you a complete experience where place, culture and history frame the musical experience between artist and audience.

The festival has some established venues, which reflect different music genres, as well as several open-air arenas in unique locations and surroundings, which serves to increase the audience’s enjoyment of the music.

Venues off the beaten track have been chosen for their connections with local history, a unique story, an unexpected glimpse of our or others’ daily lives (especially the concert at the rubbish dump), an exciting trip to and from the concert (a boat out to the mouth of the fjord, or a Blues train out to the country), or a nostalgic picnic on the seashore – all these ingredients contribute to an overwhelming experience for each member of the audience.

Check out the festival’s concert venues, you are sure to find something for everyone.
